Noura Masri
Painter and designer
Dubai
The themes in Noura Masri's work are contradictions within themselves. Her work is both mysterious and seductive, realistic and unconventional. Each subject is attractive yet intriguing. Noura's style has been described as both figurative and Expressionist. Yet, the truth is her paintings are about "Broken Reality".
The figures she paints are enigmatic in their subject matter and contain an air of humor and melancholy. They exist in their own esoteric realm, yet at the same time present a sense of accessibility that draws the observer to them. These mysterious women captivate with the direct connection of their originality.
The themes in Noura’s work introduce you to a distinctive world that merges fantasy and reality, forcing the audience to trespass in Noura’s world, which she coins as “The Free World”—a world that is free from rules and restraints. A broken reality.
